It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St.John's, Carrie (Kean) Hounsell age 94 years of Pound Cove.
Pre-deceased by Husband Lloyd, son Arthur, parents Noah and Elizabeth Kean; father and mother-in law Arthur and Emma Hounsell.
Four brothers and five sisters; Walter (Martha); Ben (Sadie); Claude (Sadie); Albert (Pearl, living at Bon News Lodge); Sophie (Whitefield Vincent); Mary (Jack Herder); Florence (Cyril Kean); Mabel (Reginal Sturge); Annie (John Daisley)
Sisters-in-law Masie (Roy Vincent) and Olive (George Blackwood)
Leaving to carry on her wonderful legacy and share her story are her 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson; 2 step-great grandchildren, the joyful blessings of 2 great-grandchildren.
Jeanette Rogers and 2 daughters Lori (Brett) and Lesley (Christopher): Donna (Albert Parsons) daughter, Allison and son Mark (Heather) grandchild Mia; Phillip (Margaret) daughters Stacee (Josh); Danica (Ethan) grandson Arthur; and Chelsea. Derrick (Leeanne) step-son Sean (Samatha) step-grandchildren, Hayley and Savannah.
Among the wide array of extended family nieces, nephews and friends, special mention to nieces Mildred, Louise and Vera and Marjorie, sister-in-law and friend Phyllis and husband Alec Janes of Mount Pearl.
Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Tuesday, December 7, 1pm - 2pm (Family)
Public Visitation from 2pm - 4pm & 7pm - 9pm
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 2 pm at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove with Rev. Roberta Vincent-Bungay and Rev. Lorne Bungay officiating. Interment will follow at the United Church cemetery, Pound Cove.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association/NL Chapter.
Visitation and funeral service will be in accordance with Covid -19 recommendations and guidelines. As a friendly reminder, please have your VacPass available upon request.
