Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, and
Great-Grandmother, Betty Winter, age 87 years, at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on
Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Betty was born September 10, 1935 to Joseph and Dorothy Pardy. She spent her childhood
in Musgrave Harbour, a place she always called home, but she moved at an early age to work
as a nurse's aide at Brookfield Hospital. She married Roland Winter of Valleyfield on April 4,
1956 and together they raised a family of four daughters.

Betty is predeceased by her husband Roland; parents Dorothy and Joseph Pardy; brothers
Walter, Eldred, Havalon, Eugene, Carl, and Ernest; sisters Rosalind, Margaret, Sadie, Jean,
Louise, and Eileen.

She leaves to mourn her four daughters Brenda (Tony Howell), Maxine (George Kean), Joyce
(Wade Goodyear), and Lillian (Perry Barbour); grandchildren Dawn (Mark), George
(Stephanie), Lesley (Jeff), Gina (Jared), Jolene (Michael), and Ryan; great-grandchildren
Mason, Christopher, Connor, Jonah, Anna, Juliana, and Ava; sister Louise Stratton; special
nephew Richard Winter; and many more family and friends.

Betty was fulfilled by the simple things in life, such as the laughter of children and the familiar
tune of her favorite hymns. She took great pride in her home and enjoyed cooking, cleaning,
and washing clothes. She was a dedicated worker who spent most of her work life at
Bonnews Lodge, where she later resided. Betty was a gracious, humble woman who was
never one to complain. She will forever be remembered with love.
