Betty Lou
Margaret West
April 1, 1952 – January 15, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, Betty Lou West age 69 years of Pound Cove.
Betty Lou West (or" Bet, B, Aunt B or Lou Lou these were some of her nicknames) was born in Parry Sound, Ontario on April 1, 1952.
In 1978 she met the love of her life in Parry Sound, Ontario and in 1981 moved to Pound Cove with Arthur Sturge and their daughter, Sandra West.
Her family and friends grew over the last 40 years almost as big as her tremendous caring heart. Her family was her whole life and she adored her three grandchildren (Mason, Garritt and Haiden), they were her pride and joy as well as her great granddaughter; Nevaeh West.
She treated everyone she met with kindness and went out of her way to make sure her friends knew she was there for them, always visiting someone everyday. She loved taking care of others and visited anyone who wasn't well, in the homes, hospitals, it didn't mater how unwell she was herself.
A smile that lit a room and a sense of humor so unique from most, you could not be in her presence without having a good laugh.
She will never be forgotten, as she has made a deep impact on many lives, the love she shared was given back by all who knew her and that is why she will live forever in our hearts.
Betty is predeceased by her parents; Jack John and Ruby West, grandson; Justin West and sister; June West.
Leaving to mourn with beautiful and loving memories are her husband; Arthur Wayne Sturge, daughter; Sandra West (Levi Chipman) of St. John's, brother; Ronald West of Parry Sound, Ontario, Sisters; Norma Buttineau (Don Smith)of Parry Sound, Ontario, Linda (Darryl Mullen) of Rosseau, Ontario, Donna Griffith of Rosseau, Ontario, grandchildren; Mason West (Nancy McIsaac) of Corner Brook, Garritt West (Isabella Harris) of Hermitage, Haiden West of Corner Brook, great-grandchildren; Nevaeh West, Benjamin Kosikowski, Mila Kosikowski and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.
