Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that  we announce the passing of our loved one on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Dr. Y.K.Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, NL, Barry Samuel Kean age 63 years of Centreville, NL

Barry Samuel Kean, affectionately known as Bar, was born on November 20, 1960 in Brookfield Hospital. He was the oldest of a set of twins. He had a sense of humour like no other; Bar always had a joke to tell and loved to make people laugh.

He met the love of his life in June of 1981. Together he and Claudette raised their two sons, Jonathan and Andrew, in their home in Wareham. NL.

Bar loved life, laughter and being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, but fishing was his favorite pastime. He was also extremely creative and loved to make things with his hands, many of which can be found around his home and especially on his front lawn. He took pride in everything he did and everything he made.

Bar and Claudette had 3 grandchildren, Evan, Liam and Rory. While they were indeed his pride and joy, he always wished for a granddaughter. He got that wish on June 21 when Roen Maggie  was born. Getting to hold her just days before he passed was one of the happiest moments of his life.

Bar passed away quietly on the afternoon of August 1 surrounded by loved ones. His joy and zest for life will be missed by all who knew him.

Predeceased by his parents; Cator and Maggie Kean, grandparents; Eldrige and Jane Spurrell, Abram and Maisie Kean and father-in-law; Silas Pickett.
