It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother; Barbara Jane Granter; who left us surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the age 95 years.

Barbara was born on the island of Greenspond, on January 7, 1930 and relocated to Pool's Island in 1963 with her family.

Barbara is lovingly remembered by daughters; Ruth Collins (Wilfred Sheppard), Sheila Sheppard (Albert), sons; Frank Granter (Marlene), Clyde Granter (Wendy), Vaughn Granter (Michelle Byrne), grandchildren; Kimberly Collins (Matthew Fuchs), Krista Collins, Mark Sheppard (Tanya), Nicole Boland (Travis), Nicholas Granter (Jane), Mackenzie Granter, Tristan Byrne (Chantel), Taylor Byrne, great grandchildren; Grace, Sophia, Adair, Abraham, Esther, Leo and Henry, sisters-in-law; Trixie White (Don) and Jennie Burry, as well as a large circle of  nieces, nephews and many friends.

She is predeceased by her husband; Harry, parents; Baxter and Annie Burry, brothers; Frank Burry, Samuel Burry (Laura), Peter Burry, sisters; Marguerite Giles (Fred), Neta Woodland (Samuel), son-in-law; Cyril Collins and daughter-in-law; Eileen Gibbons.

A woman of quiet strength and deep love, Barbara's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was the most loving, caring and giving person, someone who took time to listen and be there for anyone in need. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed gatherings, especially at Christmas; her favourite time of the year.

Forever remembered and loved by all who knew her.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to St. James Anglican  Cemetery Fund, Pool's Island.

Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 7 P.m - 9 P.M. for Family Only;

Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Public Visitation  at 2 P.M - 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. - 8 P.M. with Family Service at 8 P.M. - 9 P.M.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 2 P.M. at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay with Rev. Renee Easton officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Pool's Island.
