It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at home in Wareham; Arthur Firmage age 77 years.

Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Margaret (Cutler); second mother Sarah Rose Firmage; sisters Sarah and Margaret; sister-in- law Claire; brothers Clarence and Frank; brother-in-law Mark.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Margaret; son Guy( Daphne) of Centerville; granddaughters Jessica (Brandon) Martindale and great-granddaughter (Jayla) of Calgary, Alberta and Jennifer Hunt (Brady Peacock) of Surrey, BC.; sisters Mae Button of Wareham, Shirley (Tom) Perry of Houston, BC and Marlene Firmage of Wareham; brothers Herman (Mary) of Wareham, Pat of Labrador City, Gilbert (Carrie) of Wareham, Clayton (Beulah) of Centreville, Wallace (Della) of Trinity, Kenneth (Bessie) of Wareham, Maxwell (Violet) of Sault Ste Marie, Dwight (Christine) of New-Wes-Valley, Andy (Tanya) of Wareham; a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Arthur worked in Churchill Falls until retirement in 2003 when he moved back to Wareham in the house he build in 1977.  Arthur and Margaret spend many joyous hours together crafting and wood workings, that they sold locally. But his greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughters, they had a special bond with Grandie. His great-granddaughter Jayla helped him in his illness each day. Even though dementia had taken over his ability to speak and express what he needed, he knew how to communicate with Margaret. Thanks to technology he could see them daily on face time.  The expressions of excitement said it all.

Rest in Peace Grandie. We will always love you.

Due to COVID restrictions and recommendations, visitation and funeral service will be by invitation only.

Visitation will be held at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on  Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 1 - 4 p.m.

Funeral service will take place on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 2 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham with Rev. Daphne Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arthur's memory to The Firmage Family and a decision on monetary disbursements will be made later.
