Andy Calvin
James Brown
September 21, 1989 – October 31, 2024
With shattered hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son Andy at age 35, at the Labrador West Health Center in Labrador City.
Andy was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Mary and Emanuel Brown, and maternal grandparents Ella and Llewellyn Hunt, Uncles, Roy and Job Hunt, and Harvey Grimes.
Left to mourn are his two sons, Zachary and Landen Freake, Parents, Lisa Fraser and Ivan Brown (partner Lynette Jenkins) Step Dad Harold Fraser, Sister Brittany Brown (David Langille), Step Brother Cody Fraser, his two nieces Jennifer and Autumn, his Aunt Gail (Calvin Ackerman), who was like a second Mom to him, his Uncle Jamie, Uncle Carl (Neta) Uncle Calvin (Gladys) who helped him out at different times, and a large circle of Aunts and Uncles, cousins and friends.
Andy was born in Gander, NL. He moved, with his parents, at the age of 5 to Wabush where he grew up and spent most of his life. He moved to NS in 2016 to be close to his mother and sister, and lived there until recently when he moved back to NL. Labrador has always been home in his heart.
Andy was a Heavy Equipment Operator, just like his Dad. He enjoyed being behind the wheel of truck or loader.
Andy loved his family dearly, but closest to his heart were his two sons that he spoke of often with pride. They were his driving force, and his greatest gift. He was protective over his family and friends. He loved animals, and animals loved him. He especially enjoyed snowmobiling, and swimming. He was very friendly and would have a conversation with anyone.
Andy would often text his Mom to say "it's slippery today, be careful, or drive safe. He had a heart that felt deeply, and he struggled with life, and losing those close to him.
The family has the comfort of knowing that you are at peace and the pain and suffering you endured here on earth is no more. Rest easy Andy. You will be forever missed.
Andy will be laid to rest with his maternal Grandparents Ella and Llewellyn Hunt along with his Uncle Job at St. Barnabas Anglican Cemetery, Centeville.
A Family Service will take place at 7 PM on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville. Any family and friends are welcome.
