Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 Adam Samuel Firmage age 80 years of Wareham, NL.

Predeceased by parents; Avalon and Bessie Firmage, parents-in-law; Adam and Hannah Parsons, sister; Elizabeth Parsons and brothers; Clarence, David and George Firmage.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Eliza, daughters; Lorraine Hunt (Rodney Hunt) of Badger's Quay, Kim Firmage (Shawn Rideout) of Gander, Jackie Johnson (Bernie Johnson) of Trinity, sister; Florence Hounsell (Enos Hounsell) of Wareham, grandchildren; Dwayne Smith and Natasha, Cassandra Hunt and Cory, Katherine and Dylan McGregor, Keisha Johnson and Parker, Kassidy Johnson and Eddie, great grandchild; Kiersten Smith and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

Adam was born and raised in Wareham, before moving to Ontario in his late teens he met his life's partner; Eliza in 1966 and they started their family in 1967. After living in Ontario for a several years, they moved back to the "Point" and lived a stone's throw away from the spot his childhood home had stood.

Adam loved  children, not only his own three children, his grandchildren and great grandchild but a huge circle of nephews, nieces, their kids and grand kids. Adam was simply adored by the kids growing up on the "Point". Many of them referred to him as Pop. Adam was a good, kind, loving, gentle man and his absence leaves a hole in the fabric of our lives that can never be mended.

Visitation will take place at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 2 P.M. - 4 P.M. & 7 P.M. - 9 P.M.;  Friday, January 10, 2025  at 2 P.M. - 4 P.M. & 7 P.M. - 9 P.M.

Funeral service will follow on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Maxine Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Adam's memory to The Firmage Family, they will decide at a later date on monetary disbursements.
